What kind of professional resume writer are you if you are recommending people to list their age and marital status????? While in Euporean CV’s it is fairly standard to include such information (although trends are changing there, as well), in American resumes that is information that should NEVER be included as standard information.

Of the literally 1000′s of resumes I have written, the only time I have included this information was for a gentleman who was a pastor.

Your resume should focus on your skills, strengths, accomplishments and abilities. Items that could be held ‘against’ you- such as age, religious or political affiliations, or marital status should, in the the majority of cases, not be included.

How in the world can you suggest someone add their age and marital status but NOT their phone number or email address?

This is the most retarded advice I have ever seen.

Oh and include your name on your resume? THANK YOU, YOU ARE THE LEONARDO DAVINCI OF RESUME SECRETS

Also how can anyone take seriously writing advice from someone who uses grammar so poorly:
“The reason for this is that in case, you get employed; you will not suffer the consequences of not being able to perform some of the duties that you listed in your resume.”

That is a pure mess right there.

n addition to the tips provided I have used in the past: Write a CV for the position you are applying for, The style matters depending on the type and background of the organization your are applying. Some companies wish a picture on your CV, although this practice is in certain countries. Do not include too many skills in the skills section, and think about education history first or past work history. There are so many things to think about in writing an effective CV.
