?Is there really an advantage to getting Interview Coaching?

Think about the last few interviews you went on, and then honestly rate your performance. Were you offered the job? Did you receive another call back? What was the employer’s feedback during and after the interview?

If you can ask yourself and answer those questions honestly and you didn’t receive an offer, a call back, or good feedback then chances are you could use an interview skills brush up.

Your interview coach should start out with the basics like; how to dress, how to act, how to shake hands, and more basic interview skills. Then they will gradually progress through the different types of interviews there are, questions you should expect to be asked, how to answer those questions, and what questions you should ask at the interview. Yes you should ask questions, even if you don’t have any.

Finally, the interview coach should have a question and answer session with you. This part of the coaching session should take as much time as you need to feel like all of your questions and concerns have been adequately addressed. Some clients have specific issues they need help with such as; how to explain gaps in employment, resume issues, or non-progressive steps in employment. Other clients may be more focused on the right way to answer interview questions especially with all the different types of interviews and interview questions there are out there.

No matter what your concerns, issues, or questions an interview coach can help you address all of those areas.

When you are finished with your coaching session you should feel more confident about your abilities and have the right tools, resources, and skills to ace your next interview.
