The information contained in your article "Nine tips for better online job hunting" is interesting, expecially since it's what I've been doing for the past 10 months, and have yet to get even ONE interview. I have 23 years experience as a legal secretary, which also means I have administrative and executive abilities and skills. I've applied for jobs as a legal secretary, executive secretary/assistant and administrative assistant, In my humble opinion, "cyberspace job hunting" is a tremendous waste of time and effort, which leads nowhere. In "the old days" when I sent a cover letter, resume and reference letters by mail, I could TRIPLE the number of jobs for which I was applying, and always got responses asking for interviews. Regarding #9, how do I "follow up" when more times than not there is no company name listed in the position listing? The only following up I'll be doing in the near future is with the bankruptcy court and my mortgage lender when I lose my home.
